Last summer we found a spot for every kid in the garden. Some of them really enjoyed our nature themed arts and crafts. We made vases out of Native MI clay and filled them with dried flowers harvested on sight. We had an active group that loved our tree fort activity and scare crow building! Many of the children took to sampling our home grown veggies fresh from the plot! We had the blessing of witnessing a child with disabilities find their voice in the garden during a therapeutic session! This space is a wonderful bridge to help our youth find what they need to nourish their entire being. It is our honor to be able to give back at the end of the season when we donate excess produce to Food Rescue. We were fortunate to host guests such as the Norte group and Homeschool Moms. Oryana Co-Op, just right down the Tart Trail, joined us for a recipe swap! Our T.C. Parks and Rec. program is sponsored by the Traverse City Friendly Garden Club, and their wisdom and passion for education, have nurtured our organization for two decades! This is a place where friendships are forged and our community culture is defined and represented at its best. We have some fine outreach goals set for 2019 and hope you will be inspired to support us!
