Annual Plant Sale - Saturday, June 6
The GTACG Annual Plant Sale will be offering an online option for ordering for 2020 for your home-gardening needs, with contactless pickup at the TADL or delivery in Grand Traverse County.
2020 Programming Update
In response to the current pandemic, the Grand Traverse Area Children's Garden is currently closed through May 15 to comply with Governor Whitmer's Stay Home Stay Safe Executive Order. The safety of the GTACG Staff, Board, Volunteers, and especially, our Children, remains the number one priority of the GTACG. As a result, for 2020, the GTACG will be suspending all in-person programming for the season, including the Children's Learning Garden, and all in-person volunteer programs. This decision was not made lightly, but is necessary to protect the community. The GTACG staff will constantly be monitoring federal, state, and local laws and recommendations to re-open and re-engage its in-person programming as soon as it can be done in a safe manner.
But, we will be getting creative to find ways to remain engaged with the GTACG community throughout the year. Please continue to grow with us by following us on Facebook and Instagram as we engage in creating community through safe social distancing practices.
For 2020, the two staff members, Kimberly and Farmer Jeremy will be tending the Children's Learning Garden plots with the intention to donate any bounty to those in need.
How You Can Help
In order to provide the bounty to the community, the GTACG has set up a GoFundMe Account to help GTACG purchase the supplies it needs to keep the GTACG running for the season with the increased demand on protocols in relation to safety, cleaning, sanitizing, disinfecting, proper protective gear, and regular farming supplies such as soil, amendments, rubbish removal, etc. and, finally, to keep Kimberly and Farmer Jeremy on staff. Please share far and wide, and if you are able, make a contribution to help your Children's Garden.
